Swamp Fest returns, bringing thousands of visitors to the Land of Mermaids to peruse hundreds of arts, crafts, food and gift vendors, and to eat fried gator and grouper, dance to live folk music, take part in the kid and adult Swamp Monster costume contests and snap photos with lovely mermaids.
FREE REMOTE PARKING
There is no charge for the shuttle service, but donations are accepted to help defray the costs to the organizations providing the vehicles.
Parking at the Swampfest is coordinated by the Spring Hill Fire Police and Hernando County Sherriff’s deputies. Visitors are asked to watch for signs and follow instructions for the safety and convenience of all.
Parking on the shoulder of US 19. is prohibited by Hernando County Ordinance and drivers are advised to avoid leaving vehicles in this area.

Now in its 23rd year, the Weeki Wachee Swamp Fest returns March 11, 12 and 13, 2016.
Each year, Swamp Fest committee member Audrey Holley of Weeki Wachee invites adults and children to submit drawings for the T-shirts and caps the event members produce for the yearly event.

The Weeki Wachee Swamp Fest has grown from a small local community fundraising festival to a statewide annual event attracting over thousands of fun seekers and featuring more than one hundred and forty arts and craft vendors.
Along with a great variety of food to enjoy like fried grouper, bar-b-que chicken, crab cakes, Alligator, bloom in’ onion, jambalaya, greens & black eyed peas, beans and rice, fried green tomatoes, slaw, hot dogs, Cuban Sandwiches, hamburgers, the entertainment program includes dancers, folk, country and instrumental music throughout the weekend.
Hundreds of prizes to be given away, to be drawn on stage hourly. You do not need to be present to win. Prize tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.

The “Swamp Monster” contest has always been a favorite with the crowd, and with clever and wildly creative costumes, kids and adults alike vie for the cash prizes. Drawings for over 200 other prizes throughout the event, as well. (…read more about Swamp Monster contest)
