The StayinMay Festival (The ArtsNaples World Festival Inc.) has now produced four world-class festivals with over 50,000 attendees featuring the best of the cultural arts of Russia, the Latin Americas, Italy and France. Throughout multiple and unique venues across Naples, The StayInMay Festival presents concerts and events spanning art, chamber music, cinema, culinary, dance, opera, fashion, theater and orchestra.  The StayInMay Festival combines the best of the arts in Naples with amazing talent from around the globe. Verdi’s Nabucco Maestro conductsMaestro William Noll is Artistic Director for StayInMay Festival, Classic Chamber Concerts, the Fifth Avenue Chamber Orchestra, and guest conductor for Opera Naples. He is a performance veteran of major concert halls in the United States, Europe, Central America, Russia, and China. He has conducted symphonic, choral and operatic repertoire from Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York, to festivals and tours in Italy, Belgium, Costa Rica, and China. Last summer he travelled to Russia to serve as a judge for the Lotar-Shevchenko International piano competition sponsored by the Boris Yeltsin Foundation. He was also interviewed with Maestro Mikhail Pletnev for an international TV press conference.

Mr. Noll has held positions with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Opera, the Choral Guild of Atlanta, Providence Opera Theatre, the Miami International Piano Festival; and with summer festivals in Graz, Aspen, Spoleto, Lecce, and Brevard. He has also conducted for the New York City Opera, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra at Avery Fisher Hall, New Mexico Symphony, Savannah Symphony, Opera Orchestra of New York, National Orchestra of Costa Rica, Ukraine’s Odessa Philharmonic, Naples Philharmonic, ArtsNaples World Festival Orchestra, and the Fifth Avenue Chamber Orchestra. Next spring, Maestro Noll will make his debut appearance in Minsk, Belarus, as both conductor and pianist.

Maestro Noll’s catalog of commercial recordings includes choral, symphonic and jazz repertoire on labels such as Newport Classic, InterSound, Pro-Jazz, Time-Life, and Sony. He also has many TV and radio appearances to his credit; choral concerts, jazz orchestra, live simulcasts, and specials for PBS, CBS, NPR, Radio Free-Europe, and over six years of hosting “Fanfare,” an Atlanta weekly radio feature.

Additionally, he has served as Music Director for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for three decades. He has also served on panels for the National Endowment for the Arts, the USIA, Fulton County Arts Council, Bronx Arts Panel, Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Georgia Council for the Arts, and the Classical Nomination Committee for the Grammy Awards. The United Arts Council of Collier County recently honored maestro Noll, as a “Stars in the Arts” award recipient.

ArtsNaples World Festival Facts

ArtsNaples World Festival, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation, which operates as a professional arts organization in Naples, Florida. ArtsNaples is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. ArtsNaples is governed by a Board of Directors and is managed by both a professional and volunteer staff.

The not-for-profit corporation was established in May 2009. ArtsNaples presented its first concert in the fall of 2010 when it brought Ukraine’s Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra to Naples for an all-Beethoven concert with Pianist Ilya Itin.

ArtsNaples offers over eighty annual events spanning areas of the cultural and performing arts during its Festival. The majority of these events take place during the last week of April and first week of May. ArtsNaples performs in venues throughout Southwest Florida and partners with dozens of local, regional, national and international arts organizations. Over 50,000 people have participated in the ArtsNaples Festivals since its inception.

ArtsNaples also sponsors an arts education program that has engaged thousands of young students in Southwest Florida. Our mission is to involve preschoolers through college how their lives are enriched through participation in the arts. By bringing our students and teachers together, along with visionary and passionate individuals in the arts, there is the opportunity to significantly inspire and impact the lives of these young people.

During the 2014 Festival the Aizuri String Quartet performed interactive assemblies for almost one thousand middle and high school orchestra-member students of a local school district. This extraordinary educational program also presents superb global cultural programs, which have inspired and motivated thousands of students. These vibrant and interactive sessions for music students and their teachers have been documented by media and in the press.

Maestro William Noll was appointed the Artistic Director of ArtsNaples in 2009. Under his leadership the Festival has been witness to the finest regional and international professionals playing to sold-out houses—with hopefuls standing in the box office line waiting for returns.

In May 2014, the Editorial Staff of The Naples Daily News stated, “The ArtsNaples World Festival has established itself through persistence, great programming—thanks to Artistic Director William Noll—and the collaboration among local institutions around the city. Those partnerships are showing what great things can be accomplished with teamwork; they’re a model for every institution in Southwest Florida.”

While heavily attended by residents of Southwest Florida, the Festival attracts its audience from across the US. The Festival performers are a blend of noted regional, national and international professionals.
